Cinema Treasures Cinema Treasures was launched in 2000 by filmmaker and technologist Patrick Crowley, and film historian Ross Melnick. The site is dedicated to the preservation of movie houses worldwide and currently [May 2013] contains details of over 35,000 cinemas, (e.g. 26,588 in the USA, 4,247 in the UK, 1,203 in Canada, 630 in Australia, etc.), with over 65,200 photographs. The site can be searched by architect, chain, firm, and location. Whilst the site does not contain biographical information on the architects it is useful for tracing buildings they designed. ![]() |
